City of Edinburgh

Edinburgh is situated on the east coast of Scotland’s central lowlands. It has been the capital of Scotland since 1437 and is the seat of the country’s devolved government. The Old Town and New Town districts of Edinburgh were listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. The city is one of the world’s major tourist destinations, and is the most popular tourist destination in Scotland. Edinburgh is famous for the Castle, the Royal Mile and, of course, the Forth Bridge that always needs painting.

Scotland is renowned for its hospitality, its beautiful countryside, famous whisky, and golf courses, including the most popular golf course of St. Andrews.

Travel and Accommodation

Arriving by car
Edinburgh may be reached by car from Glasgow via the M8/A8, from Stirling/Perth via the M9, from Fife via the M90/A90 (crossing the Forth Road Bridge), from Carlisle via the M74/A73, from Newcastle and the South via the A1, and from the Scottish Borders via the A68.
There are a number of car parks within walking distance of the EICC (there will be a charge for parking).
